Caretaker Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, on Tuesday presided over an expanded government gathering at the Grand Serail, encompassing ministerial, security, and judicial officials, to delve into the Syrian refugee crisis.

The meeting was devoted to discussing the file of Syrian prisoners and convicts.

Attending the meeting had been Caretaker Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Abdullah Bou Habib, Justice, Judge Henry Khoury, and Interior and Municipalities, Judge Bassam Mawlawi, as well as Public Prosecutor at the Court of Cassation, Judge Jamal Al-Hajjar, Acting Director General of General Security, Major General Elias Al-Baissari, Supreme Defense Council’s Secretary-General, Major General Mohammad al-Mustafa, Head of ISF Information Branch, Brigadier General Khaled Hammoud, Army Director of Operations, Brigadier General Jean Nohra, and Head of General Security’s Information Affairs Office, Brigadier General Youssef Al-Madwar.

On the other hand, Premier Mikati received at the Grand Serail the Beir
ut Bar Association Dean, Fadi Masri, who said on emerging that he dwelt with the Premier on an array of national affairs. Dean Masri stressed the need to elect the president of the republic.

Mikati later received at the Grand Serail the Chairman of the Association of Banks in Lebanon (ABL), Salim Sfeir, at the head of a delegation from the Association.

The PM also had audience with MP Ahmed Al-Khair.

Mikati then received the President of the Lebanese Maronite Order, Abbot Hadi Mahfouz, accompanied by Father Michel Abou Taqa and Father Tony Fakhry.
