Detachments of the Anti-Crime Department, in conjunction with the 3rd Regiment, 97th Brigade of the Maysan Operations Command, and a detachment from the Narcotics Directorate, were able to arrest two accused of drug trafficking and confiscate narcotic substances in their possession.

The Maysan Police Command said in a statement, a copy of which was received by the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA): “The accused were arrested in Qalaat Saleh district, south of the governorate, coming from Dhi Qar Governorate, where a security ambush was set up for them, which resulted in their arrest and a medium-sized bag being seized in their possession, containing narcotic crystal, indicating that legal measures will be taken against them and referred them to the competent authorities.”
