The Iranian Ambassador In Baghdad Regarding British Sanctions On Tehran: Human Rights Standards Are “Duplicity”

Iran's ambassador to Iraq, Kazem Al Sadiq, criticized the recent British human rights sanctions against Iran, describing them as duplicity in Western countries.

Mehr News Agency reported on Monday, “The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Iraq, Kazem Al Sadiq, hosted the new British Ambassador to Iraq, Stephen Hitchen, at the Iranian Embassy yesterday.”

It added that during the meeting, the two sides, while reviewing the latest regional and international situations, welcomed the steps of al-Sudani's government.

The New Agency continued, "In this meeting, Al-Sadiq criticized the human rights ban that England recently imposed on our country," and described human rights standards in Western countries as duplicity and demanded changing the approach of these countries towards the Islamic Republic of Iran."
