The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received today, Monday, at Baghdad Palace, the President of the General Federation of Trade Unions in Sports Professions in Iraq, Salem Helou Al-Rubaie, and his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, they discussed developing the work of sports federations and syndicates to serve sports and youth in the country, as the President of the Republic stressed the need to pay attention to school sports and provide the appropriate atmosphere for young people to practice their different hobbies.

He congratulated the ongoing efforts to hold the second Arab International Conference of the Arab General Union of Sports Professionals next month in Baghdad, wishing the conference success and coming up with recommendations that serve the reality of Iraqi sports.

For his part, Salem Al-Rubaie expressed his thanks and appreciation to the President for his interest and valuable guidance, providing him with a detailed explanation of the reality of the Federation’s work and its future plans, stressing the keenness to make all possible efforts to improve the Iraqi sports reality.
