Oman Honored by WHO for Eliminating Mother-to-Child Transmission of HIV and Syphilis

Geneva: The Sultanate of Oman has been honored with an award from the World Health Organization (WHO) for its success in eliminating mother-to-child transmission of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and syphilis. This recognition marks a significant achievement in Oman's public health efforts.

According to Oman News Agency, the award was received by Dr. Hilal Ali Al Sabti, Minister of Health, during the World Health Assembly in Geneva. The WHO praised Oman's ongoing advancements in maternal and child health programs, along with its robust early screening and treatment follow-up systems. These efforts reflect the effectiveness of Oman's national health system and its compliance with international standards.
