Oman, Azerbaijan Hold Official Talks Session in Muscat

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Azerbaijan held an official session of talks in Muscat today. The session focused on enhancing bilateral relations in various fields including political, economic, cultural, and educational sectors. Additionally, the discussions covered regional and international developments of mutual interest.

According to Oman News Agency, the Omani delegation was led by Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, while the Azerbaijani delegation was led by Jeyhun Bayramov, Minister of Foreign Affairs. Both sides emphasized the importance of sustaining diplomatic efforts to support regional security and stability. They affirmed their commitment to expanding cooperation and partnership, diversifying common interests for mutual benefit, and continuing regular consultations on regional and global issues.

During the session, the two countries signed an agreement on mutual visa waivers for holders of diplomatic, special, and service passports. This agreement aims to facilitate the movement of official passport holders between the two countries. Furthermore, a memorandum of understanding was signed for cooperation in the consular field, designed to enhance coordination on citizen affairs and to develop frameworks for consular cooperation.

The session was attended by Sheikh Ahmed Hashil Al Maskari, Head of the GCC and Regional Neighbourhood Department at the Foreign Ministry, Rashad Ismayilov, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Sultanate of Oman, along with several officials from both sides.
