Muscat: “Oman Across Ages Museum” today signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with “Qatar Museums” aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation in the field of museums and the conservation of national historical heritage in Oman and Qatar.
According to Oman News Agency, the MoU provides for the exchange of practical expertise in applying the highest standards of excellence, as well as ideas and initiatives related to cultural projects and events.
The MoU includes provisions for organizing joint training courses focused on event management, marketing, exhibitions, visitor services, reception protocols, volunteering activities, education, research, and translation. It also addresses the hosting of joint events, exhibitions, conferences, and symposiums, along with the exchange of information about approved policies and solutions.
Additionally, the agreement facilitates the exchange of visits for specialists and experts, alongside research and studies in the field of modern technologies and the development of multimedia. The MoU was signed by Eng. Al Yaqdhan Abdullah Al Harthi, Director General of Oman Across Ages Museum, and Mohammed Saad Al Rumaihi, Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Museums.
Speaking at the signing event, Al Harthi emphasized the importance of cultural cooperation between the institutions responsible for museums. He affirmed both parties’ commitment to preserving, conserving, and promoting national heritage, aiming for tangible progress in experience exchange and competency development.
The MoU reflects a shared desire to bolster bilateral relations and cooperation in museum management and historical heritage conservation. It underscores a mutual understanding of the importance of knowledge exchange and unified efforts to introduce cultural heritage to future generations in innovative ways.
