Thimphu: Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, the Foreign Minister of Oman, met with Dasho Tshering Tobgay, the Prime Minister of Bhutan, as part of his official visit to the country. The meeting focused on reviewing bilateral cooperation and exploring ways to enhance partnerships, particularly in economic, trade, and investment sectors.
According to Oman News Agency, both leaders emphasized the significance of exchanging visits between businesspeople and investors from Oman and Bhutan to strengthen economic ties. Discussions also covered potential collaborations in technology and sustainable energy to promote sustainable development.
In addition to the meeting with the Prime Minister, Sayyid Badr held discussions with Lyonpo D.N. Dhungyel, the Bhutanese Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Trade. The talks centered on bolstering diplomatic cooperation and exchanging support on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
The discussions extended to exploring trade, investment, education, and tourism opportunities, as well as fostering cultural and knowledge exchanges to enhance bilateral relations between the two nations. High-ranking officials, including Abdulsalam Mohammed Al Murshidi, Chairman of Oman Investment Authority, and Sheikh Abdulaziz Abdullah Al Hinai, Ambassador-at-Large, were present during these meetings.
