Salalah: Projects worth more than RO 137 million are currently being implemented in the sectors of water, electricity, and wastewater treatment in the Governorate of Dhofar. The projects are being carried out as part of efforts to bolster the infrastructure and improve the quality of public services in the Governorate.
According to Oman News Agency, during 2025, Nama Dhofar Services company is undertaking four projects. These include the opening of the first phase of the sewage network in the Sahalnoot area, which amounts to RO 45 million, the restoration of Ashoor pumping station, the improvement of water networks in Salalah, Taqah, and Mirbat costing RO 27 million, and the expansion of the sewage treatment plant valued at RO 35 million.
The company reported tangible outcomes of the projects, such as achieving 99.7 percent reliability in the water network and producing more than 22 million cubic meters of treated water, maintaining a standard quality of more than 99 percent. Additionally, 99 percent of traditional meters have been replaced with smart meters, and 33 electronic services have been introduced, with Electronic Billing activated to enhance the subscriber experience.
The implementation of these projects reflects Dhofar Governorate’s commitment to establishing an integrated and sustainable service infrastructure in line with the goals of the National Development Plan and Oman Vision 2040.
