The Civil Defense Directorate announced today, Monday, that it had put out a fire in the Baghdad University building in Al-Jadriya area.

The Directorate stated in a statement, that "a fire broke out inside a stationery store in the College of Information at the University of Baghdad in Al-Jadriya area, and the civil defense teams and firefighting vehicles stationed near the gate of the University of Baghdad were able to fully control the fire and extinguish it within minutes, which prevented the fire from spreading to other college's facilities.

It added, "As a result, the Civil Defense requested an investigation and to summon a forensic expert to determine the causes of the fire, according to the legal contexts."
