Combat detachments of the Popular Mobilization Forces carried out sweeping operations on the banks of Al-Wind River in Diyala Governorate.

A security source told the correspondent of the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that "combat detachments in the Popular Mobilization Forces carried out combing operations from two axes in the areas on the banks of Al-Wind River, northeast of Baquba.

He added that the operation aims to secure the surroundings of villages and agricultural areas as part of a strategy to end the activity of sleeper cells linked to the terrorist ISIS.
