UTAS Engages in Global Discussions at World University Presidents Forum in China

Hangzhou: The University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS) is actively participating in the World University Presidents Forum and the International Forum on Higher Education, taking place in Hangzhou, China, from November 7 to 10, 2025. The forum is focused on examining the future landscape of higher education and the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into global education and research systems.

According to Oman News Agency, UTAS is represented by a delegation led by Dr. Said bin Hamad Al Rubaie, the Vice Chancellor of the university. The event gathers leaders of universities, international organizations, and education and AI experts from over 40 countries. The forum’s agenda includes panel discussions and bilateral meetings on various themes, such as innovation in higher education within the AI era, developing digital education models, promoting educational equity and research, aligning higher education with real-world applications, and forming international partnerships to sustain higher education.

The UTAS delegation also engaged in consultative meetings with representatives from international universities and educational institutions. These discussions focused on exploring cooperation opportunities in science and research, student and staff exchanges, and developing joint programs in AI and technology disciplines.

UTAS’s involvement in the forum reflects the university’s commitment to global engagement and leadership in technology and innovation, aligning with the goals set forth in Oman Vision 2040.
