Turkish Intelligence announces the killing of a prominent leader of the (PKK) in northern Iraq

The Turkish intelligence announced the killing of a prominent leader of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in a security operation it carried out in the Sinjar region, northern Iraq.

The Turkish intelligence said in a statement today that Yilmaz Bayram was responsible for transporting weapons and ammunition in the "PKK" organization in the Sinjar region in northern Iraq.

In its statement, the Turkish intelligence indicated that Yilmaz Bayram, nicknamed "Akid Ghavar," participated in armed actions against security forces and civilians between 2011 and 2016 in Hakkari, southeastern Turkey.

He also participated in the activities of the terrorist organization in Sinjar and Soran, northern Iraq, and al-Hasakah, Rmeilan, and Qamishli, northern Syria, and was included in the list of targets of the Turkish intelligence service.

The Turkish intelligence confirmed that it had spotted Bayram in the Sinjar region, and he was trying to transfer a quantity of weapons and ammunition to members of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), and managed to kill him and destroy the vehicle he was riding and the weapons and ammunition he was transporting.
