Three Russian Citizens Arrested On Charges Of Treason

The Russian Federal Security Service stated, in a statement today, Monday, that it had arrested three residents of Voronezh province for their cooperation with the Ukrainian "Right Sector" movement, which is considered in Russia as a banned terrorist organization.

The statement stated that state treason has been charged against the detainees and they are being investigated.

"The FSB interrupted the illegal activities of three Russian citizens, residents of the Voronezh region, for their involvement in state treason in the form of providing assistance to representatives of the Ukrainian ultra-nationalist movement - Right Sector with the aim of harming Russia's security," the statement said.

According to the Russian security, it was proven that the three detainees passed information about Russian military facilities and transportation infrastructure to the Ukrainian nationalists.

A criminal case was opened to investigate them, according to Article No. 275 of the Russian Criminal Penal Code (state treason).
