Not Including The PUK… The KDP In The Process Of Forming An Alliance With Six Parties For The Elections Of The Kirkuk Provincial Council

The deputy official of the organizational office of the Kurdistan Democratic Party in Kirkuk, Muhammad Khurshid, announced that the KDP will form a coalition with six parties to participate in the Kirkuk Provincial Council elections.

He said in a statement: "They did not hold talks with the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan to participate in the elections with one list."

He added, "We are trying to register the alliance with six Kurdish parties in Kirkuk. We will register today in the Independent High Electoral Commission."

Khurshid continued: "If the KDP runs the elections alone, this will not be a problem, and those parties will be with it, and it will win the largest possible number of votes."

About whether the Kurdistan Democratic Party had held talks with the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan to participate in the elections with one list, he said: "As the organizing committee of Kirkuk, we have not held talks with the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan to participate with one list so far, while six official parties, including an Islamist, a nationalist and leftist parties expressed their willingness to form an alliance with the KDP.”
