Third Edition of “Youth Ambassadors 2025” Program Announced in Muscat

Muscat: The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, in cooperation with the Foreign Ministry and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), today announced the third edition of the “Youth Ambassadors” program for 2025. The announcement was made at the Sultan Qaboos Higher Centre for Culture and Science in Muscat Governorate.

According to Oman News Agency, the ceremony was held under the patronage of Abdullah Salim Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, with the presence of Basil Ahmed Al Rowas, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth for Sports and Youth, and several officials from various entities.

Hilal Saif Al Siyabi, Director General of Youth at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, delivered a speech in which he affirmed the Ministry’s commitment to empowering youth and enhancing their active presence in political and civic fields. He emphasized the creation of an environment that encourages participation through initiatives and programs that promote creativity, responsibility, and a sense of identity and citizenship.

He explained that the implementation of the program’s third edition, which simulates the United Nations model and involves broad Arab youth participation, aims to qualify a generation of young leaders capable of highlighting the Arab identity and participating positively in regional and international forums. This effort also seeks to enhance their contribution to the comprehensive development journey in political, economic, social, and environmental fields.

He indicated that this edition will offer participants opportunities to develop their leadership, diplomatic, dialogue, and negotiation skills. Additionally, it will expand their knowledge of the United Nations system and its bodies, equipping them with practical experience to interact with international organizations.

He added that the program will feature participation from experts at UNITAR and several diplomatic leaders, enabling youth to gain a deeper understanding of international policies and engage in realistic simulations at the Human Rights Council and the Security Council.

Atheer Said Al Mahrouqi, a member of the technical team for the Youth Ambassadors program, stated that the program represents an exceptional experience that provides youth with the opportunity to learn about the nature of diplomatic work. She noted that diplomacy is not merely a profession but a lifestyle that reflects the values of dialogue and responsibility.

The ceremony included an introductory visual presentation about the program and a review of the work plan for the current edition.

The Youth Ambassadors project aims to enhance youth participation and develop youth capabilities and skills, aligning with the objectives of the Tenth Five-Year Plan concerning the youth priority.
