The National Counter-Terrorism Committee Holds Its Meeting Headed By Al-Araji

The National Security Adviser, Qassem Al-Araji, chaired the third periodic meeting for the year 2023 of the National Counter-Terrorism Committee.

The meeting discussed, according to the chancellery's statement, the topics on the agenda, and took the necessary decisions and recommendations in this regard.

The representative of the Aviation Authority gave a briefing on the progress made regarding the procedures of the Civil Aviation Authority concerned with implementing the pre-verification program.

The meeting discussed the message of the United Nations office, which includes the development of an updated training program for workers in the field of prison management, in the presence of representatives of the Iraqi Ministry of Justice.

The meeting discussed providing the required support for the purpose of completing the mutual evaluation of the Republic of Iraq in the field of money laundering and terrorist financing, which is scheduled to be conducted on August 4 by the Financial Action Task Force for the Middle East and North Africa.

Al-Araji stressed the drafting of a joint agreement for the purpose of benefiting from the support provided by the European Union advisory mission operating in Iraq in the field of combating terrorism, provided that it conforms to the requirements of the Iraqi national authorities.

The meeting also discussed the role of the National Committee for Combating Terrorism in defining tracks of international support for Iraq in the field of combating terrorism, and took the appropriate decision in this regard./ End
