The Minister of Immigration Calls For the Displacement File To Be Completely Closed And Kept It Away from political conflicts

Baghdad -The Minister of Immigration and Displacement, Ivan Faiq Jabro, called today for intensifying efforts to accelerate the implementation of the national plan to return the displaced and completely close the displacement file, confirming the closure of all camps that fall under the authority of the federal government.

Jabro said during her participation in the workshop organized by the Ministry in cooperation with the United Nations to develop a road map to accelerate the implementation of the national plan to return the displaced, in the presence of the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Ghulam Ishaqzai, and some relevant authorities and relief organizations that Most of the liberated areas witnessed a massive campaign and distinguished government efforts to reconstruct infrastructure, indicating that “the real causes of displacement have ended and there is no justification for our displaced people to remain in the camps.”

Jabro confirmed "the closure of all camps that fall under the authority of the federal government," pointing out that "the political factor plays a major role in not returning the displaced to their original areas of residence," stressing "the necessity of keeping the displacement file away from political conflicts as it is a moral and humanitarian duty."

Jabro praised "the government efforts represented by the decisions issued by Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani regarding restoring stability and supporting returnees in the areas of return in Sinjar district."

Jabro called for "intensifying efforts at the international and national levels to accelerate the implementation of the national plan for the return of the displaced, which will consolidate and support stability in the areas of return and end the entire displacement file."
