The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the downing of a Ukrainian drone that tried to target and boycott sites in Moscow last night.

"On August 26, at approximately 03:00 at night, an attempt to launch a drone attack on targets in Moscow and its environs was thwarted," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement on Saturday morning.

The statement indicated that the air defense forces destroyed the hostile drone over the territory of the Istra region in the Moscow region, northwest of the Russian capital.

Earlier, Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin announced the destruction of an air defense drone as it approached Moscow in the Istra region, noting that there were no injuries or damages, according to preliminary information.
