Al Jabal Al Akhdar:The Preliminary Qualifying Committee for the Sultan Qaboos Holy Quran Competition, now in its thirty-fourth edition, has commenced its activities in the Wilayat of Al Jabal Al Akhdar, located in the Governorate of A'Dakhiliyah. This event is supervised by the Sultan Qaboos Higher Centre for Culture and Science at the Diwan of Royal Court.

According to Oman News Agency, Rashid Hamid Al Dughaishi, who chairs both the Preliminary and Final Qualifying Committees for this edition, reported that 27 male and female contestants participated in the qualifiers held at the hall of the Office of the Wali of Al Jabal Al Akhdar.

The competition includes seven levels focusing on the memorization of the Holy Quran. These levels range from the memorization of the entire Quran to specific parts‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬€š¬…¡¬24 consecutive parts, 18 consecutive parts, 12 consecutive parts, and further down to 6, 4, and 2 consecutive parts. There are specific age requirements for levels four through seven.

In this edition, the Sultan Qaboos Higher Centre for Culture and Science has added two new centers for preliminary qualifiers in the Wilayats of Al Jabal Al Akhdar and Dima Wa Al Tayeen. This expansion brings the total number of preliminary qualifying centers to 28 across the Sultanate of Oman.
