Students Honoured for Literary Creativity at Event in Dhofar

Muscat: Oman Writers and Literati Association, in cooperation with the Directorate General of Education in Dhofar Governorate, today celebrated the honouring of student winners of the Literary Creativity Award for School Students in its third edition. The ceremony took place at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Salalah under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar.

According to Oman News Agency, the competition focused on students from public and private schools as well as special education students. Participants were divided into three categories: The Junior category (Grades 1-5) focused on poetic recitation; the Young category (Grades 6-9) included poetic recitation, classical Arabic public speaking, and short story writing; and the Youth category (Grades 10-12) involved literary text analysis (poetry), short story writing, and classical Arabic poetry composition.
