PM: The State Has A Great Responsibility To Take Care Of The Youth, Who Make Up 60% Of The Iraqi Population

The Prime Minister, Muhammad Al-Sudani, affirmed that the state has a great responsibility to take care of the youth, who make up 60% of the population of Iraq, by developing plans and programs that advance their reality.

Al-Sudani indicated during his presidency of an extraordinary session of the Council of Ministers on the occasion of International Youth Day, August 12 to the ministerial program , which entailed the state's commitment to youth care, and the government's direction towards activating the private sector and other vital sectors that help provide thousands of job opportunities for young people and secure a decent life for them.

At the beginning of the session, the Prime Minister blessed, according to a statement by his media office, all Iraqi youth on the occasion of International Youth Day, stressing the government's keenness to make it an occasion to stand on their issues and adopt their ideas and proposals through the special session that was held for this purpose.

He also congratulated the outstanding students in the final exams of middle school, and referred to special cases of excellence and standing before them with a stand of respect, as their owners reaped excellence despite their health and economic conditions, and described them as the strength that Iraq relies on in building its future.

The session witnessed the hosting of a group of young people, representatives of the participants in the National Conference for Youth Dialogue, which was held recently in Baghdad. The conference, which would advance the youth situation and contribute to the optimal investment of youth, as well as new proposals put forward by a number of ministers.

The Prime Minister directed that the proposals be approved in the regular session of the Council of Ministers, which will be held next Tuesday, after studying them in detail and taking into account the remarks of the ministers that were recorded in today's session.

The Council of Ministers decided to form the Supreme Council for Youth, headed by the Prime Minister, the Minister of Youth and Sports as a deputy, and the membership of the Ministers of Planning, Finance, Labor, Social Affairs, Education, Higher Education, Scientific Research and Culture, the Youth Affairs Advisor in the Council of Ministers, the Provincial Affairs Coordinator, and a civil society organization specialized in youth affairs. The Prime Minister has the decision to name the members of the Council.
