Oman: A Parallel Program, titled "National Security Pillars," commenced today at the National Defence College (NDC) of the Academy for Strategic and Defence Studies. The opening ceremony was held under the auspices of Rear Admiral Ali Abdullah Al Shidi, Commandant of the NDC, and will run until 21 May. According to Oman News Agency, the Commandant of the National Defence College delivered a speech highlighting the contemporary challenges of information wars and narrative clashes. He emphasized the necessity for a professional and reliable national media system capable of conveying the truth, fighting rumors, and disinformation, and establishing 'cognitive security' to fortify minds. He asserted that the national media plays a crucial role in protecting awareness, highlighting achievements, boosting morale, and unifying national ranks behind its leadership. The program's objectives include deepening the understanding of national security dimensions, enhancing state readiness, and consolidating political and societal security as essential national security pillars. It also aims to recognize economic and media security as fundamental national security pillars.
