Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has received a written message from President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, concerning bilateral relations between the two countries. The message was received by Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, during a meeting with the Envoy of the President of Mauritania, Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad.
According to Oman News Agency, the meeting focused on discussing the cooperation and partnership between Oman and Mauritania. Both sides affirmed their mutual commitment to developing and strengthening these relations across various fields, particularly in the economic and investment domains, in a manner that serves mutual interests and meets the aspirations of the two peoples.
Additionally, the two parties exchanged views on regional and international developments. They underscored the importance of supporting efforts aimed at containing tensions and advancing political solutions, contributing to the consolidation of security and peace based on the principles of international law and the United Nations Charter.
The meeting was attended by Sheikh Faisal Omar Al Marhoon, Head of the Arab Affairs Department at the Foreign Ministry, Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, Mohamed Vall Ahmed Bah, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania to the Sultanate of Oman, and several officials from both sides.
