Muscat: The 21st edition of the Oman Real Estate, Design, and Build Exhibition and Conference 2026 commenced today at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, scheduled from May 10 to 13. The opening ceremony was officiated by Sultan Salim Al Habsi, Minister of Finance, highlighting the significance of the event in the context of Oman's burgeoning real estate and urban development sectors.
According to Oman News Agency, the event is organized by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, in collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion, Oman Real Estate Association, and Connect Company. It features participation from ministers, senior officials, real estate developers, investors, experts, and leading companies specializing in real estate development, urban planning, design, and construction.
The conference and exhibition serve as a strategic platform to showcase major urban projects and national initiatives related to future cities and integrated communities. They highlight investment opportunities and aim to strengthen public-private sector collaboration to support business growth and sustainable urban development. The exhibition offers insights into real estate projects, residential developments, and financing solutions.
The event saw the announcement of strategic agreements and projects linked to Oman's future cities, including a partnership for residential neighborhoods with Saudi Arabia's Retal Urban Development Company. Sultan Haitham City was a focal point, with investments in site preparation, infrastructure, and landscaping projects awarded to various companies, reflecting the accelerated development of urban infrastructure.
A memorandum of understanding was signed with Artas Holding of Turkey for the Al Khuwair Downtown Project, reinforcing the transformation of the project into an economic and urban hub in Muscat. Agreements for developing integrated residential neighborhoods with a total investment exceeding RO 123 million were also signed, delivering 2,167 residential units across several Omani governorates under the 'Sorouh' Initiative.
Additionally, the conference announced new investment opportunities for residential neighborhoods across four governorates, emphasizing balanced development and public-private sector partnerships.
In social responsibility initiatives, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning and Dar Al Atta'a Association for social housing projects. The event also launched waqf investment opportunities through the 'Tatwir' platform, aimed at maximizing economic and social impact.
The conference includes the 'Ruwad' Program for training in real estate marketing and brokerage, and the 'Itqan' Program for IT capacity building, focusing on innovation and digital transformation. More than 50 panel discussions with over 95 speakers address real estate trends, urban planning, and technology.
