Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and His Majesty King Hamad bin Issa Al Khalifa of the Kingdom of Bahrain have announced the establishment of the Omani-Bahraini Investment Company. The leaders emphasized the significance of expanding cooperation and economic partnership by exploring additional opportunities, encouraging public and private sector collaboration to diversify economic and investment partnerships to meet the aspirations of both nations and their peoples.

According to Oman News Agency, the joint communique was issued during King Hamad’s state visit to Oman. The visit aimed to bolster bilateral relations, with extensive talks held between the two leaders. They reviewed the progress of joint action and bilateral cooperation, expressing satisfaction with the development in mutual interests.

The establishment of the Omani-Bahraini Investment Company was welcomed as part of these discussions. A series of agreements, memoranda of understanding, and executive programs were signed in fields of mutual interest, aiming to strengthen the partnership between the two nations.

The Omani-Bahraini Joint Committee was commended for its role in promoting bilateral cooperation and implementing joint projects. Both sides emphasized the importance of the committee’s ongoing efforts to explore new partnership areas to achieve shared aspirations, including encouraging economic and investment initiatives between the public and private sectors.

The leaders also reviewed the progress of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and discussed regional and international issues. They highlighted the need for peaceful dispute resolution, advocating for dialogue and international cooperation to maintain regional and global security and stability. Enhanced consultation and coordination in their positions were stressed as essential for serving common interests and enhancing regional and global prosperity.

At the conclusion of the visit, King Hamad expressed his gratitude to Sultan Haitham for the warm welcome and hospitality. Sultan Haitham extended his best wishes for the health and well-being of King Hamad and expressed hopes for continued progress and prosperity for Bahrain and its people.
