Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman has experienced a 0.8 percent increase in its natural gas production, including both domestic production and imports, reaching 47.5026 billion cubic meters by the end of October 2025. This marks a rise from 47.1055 billion cubic meters during the same period in 2024.
According to Oman News Agency, data from the National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI) revealed that the production of associated gas climbed by 10.9 percent, resulting in 10.5995 billion cubic meters by the end of October 2025. This is an increase from 9.5558 billion cubic meters recorded in the corresponding period of 2024.
Conversely, the production of non-associated gas, which includes imports, saw a decline of 1.7 percent, falling to 36.9031 billion cubic meters by the end of October 2025. This is a decrease compared to 37.5497 billion cubic meters by the end of October 2024.
In terms of consumption, natural gas usage in industrial projects decreased by 3.5 percent. By the end of October 2025, consumption was recorded at 23.2352 billion cubic meters, down from 24.0815 billion cubic meters for the same period in 2024.
Gas utilization in power generation plants increased by 1.6 percent by the end of October 2025, reaching 13.1255 billion cubic meters, compared to 12.9224 billion cubic meters during the same period in the previous year.
The data further showed that gas consumption in oil fields, which includes industrial areas, Oman Mining Company, and Oman Cement, grew by 10.3 percent. This amounted to 10.9074 billion cubic meters by the end of October 2025, compared to 9.8933 billion cubic meters in the preceding year.
Lastly, gas consumption in industrial areas, which encompasses Sultan Qaboos University and the Ministry of Defense, recorded a 12.6 percent growth, reaching 234.5 million cubic meters by the end of October 2025, up from 208.3 million cubic meters during the same period in 2024.
