Salalah:The National Committee for Combating Human Trafficking has launched the national awareness campaign "Aman 2" under the slogan "Awareness is Everyone's Right." This initiative aims to raise community awareness about the dangers of human trafficking, promote a culture of prevention, and support and empower victims.
According to Oman News Agency, the campaign will run for a full month, featuring a variety of programs, events, and activities aimed at different societal segments. It seeks to enhance understanding of human trafficking indicators, prevention methods, and channels for reporting and assistance, thereby contributing to increased community awareness and strengthening national efforts against this crime.
The launch ceremony was held under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar, and was attended by Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs and Chairman of the National Committee for Combating Human Trafficking. It included a visual presentation showcasing the Committee's efforts in educating the public about human trafficking, introducing prevention and protection mechanisms, and highlighting key initiatives and programs aimed at enhancing community awareness and protecting human rights.
During the ceremony, the "Wall of Hope" was inaugurated. This electronic system allows individuals to write motivational messages for victims of human trafficking. These messages are translated into several languages and sent to the Protection House, offering moral support and enhancing the victims' sense of safety and hope.
Several members of the National Committee for Combating Human Trafficking attended the launch, along with officials, specialists, and representatives from relevant entities and institutions. Oman continues its efforts to combat human trafficking through a comprehensive national framework focused on prevention, awareness, protection, and legal prosecution, while fostering cooperation among authorities and ensuring care and protection for victims.
The "Aman 2" campaign is a continuation of these efforts, emphasizing community awareness of human trafficking's dangers and prevention methods, and reinforcing the principle that protecting human beings is a shared responsibility.
