Muscat: Tasks of the 2nd international conference titled “The Future of Humanities, Social Sciences and Sharia Sciences in View of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Shaping an Up-to-Date Human Being” kicked off in Muscat today. The two-day conference is organized by ‘Ishraq Foundation for Press and Publishing’ in cooperation with the Arab Open University.
According to Oman News Agency, as many as 200 experts, researchers, and academics from the Sultanate of Oman and abroad are taking part in the conference. The opening ceremony was held under the auspices of Dr. Mohammed bin Said Al Maamari, Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs.
The conference seeks to provide comprehensive visions and practical recommendations that contribute to the development of scholarly domains in a manner that responds to the requirements of AI, namely by enhancing educational research and improving educational practices in accordance with the latest technical developments.
Research papers in the conference focus on six main topics, which are: “Values and Ethics in the Age of Artificial Intelligence”; “Humanities, Social Sciences and Sharia Sciences within the context of Opportunities and Challenges of Artificial Intelligence”; “The Future of Humanities, Social Sciences and Sharia Sciences in the Age of Artificial Intelligence”; “Artificial Intelligence and Sustainable Development”; “The Future of Education in the Age of Artificial Intelligence”; and “Ways to Enhance Scholarly Research in the Age of Artificial Intelligence.”
The conference included an exhibition for Master’s students from the Arab Open University. The exhibition showcases modern applications that contribute to developing the process of education and research, including the HeyGen application, an AI Video Generator used in compiling professional video clips.
