Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik today issued Royal Decree No. (36/2025) concerning the ratification of a protocol amending the agreement between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of India. This agreement focuses on the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of financial evasion related to income taxes, and the protocol was signed in Muscat on 27 January 2025.
According to Oman News Agency, Article (1) of the Royal Decree ratifies the protocol as attached to the decree. The decree ensures that the amendment is in line with the agreed-upon version.
Article (2) of the Royal Decree mandates that the decree be published in the Official Gazette. It further stipulates that the enforcement of the decree begins from its date of issue, ensuring immediate legal effect within the Sultanate.
