Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik today issued four Royal Decrees, each aimed at enhancing international cooperation and facilitating economic engagement with key global partners.
According to Oman News Agency, the first decree, Royal Decree No. (23/2025), ratifies an agreement between Oman and Morocco in the area of maritime transport and ports. This agreement, signed in Rabat on July 4, 2023, is expected to boost maritime collaboration and enhance port operations between the two countries. The decree will be published in the Official Gazette and enforced from its date of issue.
The second decree, Royal Decree No. (24/2025), addresses tax matters between Oman and Cyprus. It ratifies an agreement signed in Muscat on December 8, 2024, aimed at the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion concerning income taxes. This move is intended to pave the way for smoother financial transactions and investment between the two nations.
Royal Decree No. (25/2025) concerns the agreement with Tanzania on similar tax issues. Signed in Muscat on December 15, 2024, this decree focuses on eliminating double taxation on income taxes and preventing tax evasion, potentially fostering a more favorable environment for business and trade.
The final decree, Royal Decree No. (26/2025), is related to air transport with Djibouti. Signed in Muscat on January 6, 2025, this agreement aims to strengthen aviation ties and improve air connectivity between Oman and Djibouti, thereby facilitating travel and commerce.
All decrees will be published in the Official Gazette and come into effect from their respective dates of issue, marking a significant step in Oman’s ongoing efforts to enhance international partnerships and economic growth.
