Fouad Hussein chairs the twenty-eighth session of the Ministerial Council for Economy

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fouad Hussein, chaired the twenty-eighth session of the Ministerial Council for the Economy.

The Council hosted the Chairman of the General Authority of Customs, the Director General of the General Company for Exhibitions and Commercial Services, and representatives of the Petroleum Products Export Company (SOMO) to discuss simplifying procedures for customs declarations for crude oil shipments.

The Council also hosted the Head of the Federation of Iraqi Industries and the President of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce to discuss and study the decisions to prevent the import of some products manufactured in Iraq and the extent of their impact on the local industrial levels on the one hand and the commercial levels on the other hand.

The Head of the union gave a presentation on the development of Iraqi industry for the private sector. In this regard, the Council stressed the need to protect the Iraqi product, taking into account the quality and price of those products.

The Council also agreed to increase the total cost of infrastructure projects in Basra Governorate (water, electricity, communications), as well as covering and paving streets in Diyala Governorate.
