Foreign Minister Engages in Talks with GCC Counterparts on Iran-US Negotiations


Muscat: Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, engaged in telephone conversations with several key figures from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). These included Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar; Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates; Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia; Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait; and Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain.

According to Oman News Agency, the conversations focused on informing the ministers about the significant outcomes of the indirect Iran-US negotiations. The discussions highlighted the necessity of maintaining the negotiation momentum and enhancing diplomatic efforts to promote de-escalation and advance security and peace in the region.

The dialogue also explored the development of a n
ew framework for regional dialogue concerning economic and security cooperation. The ministers reiterated their commitment to ongoing coordination and stressed the importance of increasing consultation during the current sensitive period. This collaboration aims to address critical regional issues and foster an era of constructive cooperation for the prosperity of all states and peoples in the region.
