Muscat: Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, received Charles Michel, former President of the European Council and former Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Belgium, to discuss regional and global developments.

According to Oman News Agency, the meeting highlighted the importance of political efforts to address tensions and foster conditions for restoring security, stability, and peace. Both parties stressed the need for uniform standards, respect for state sovereignty, and adherence to international law.

Charles Michel commended Oman's modern renaissance and its balanced foreign policy, which promotes peace and friendship. He expressed appreciation for the warm reception during his first visit to Oman and noted the country's appeal in tourism and business due to its strategic geographical location for trade.

The discussions also covered the enhancement of Omani-Belgian relations and broader relations with Europe, with a focus on potential developments across various sectors.
