Quetta: Twenty-four people were killed today in an explosion that targeted a train carrying military personnel in the city of Quetta, located in Balochistan province in southwestern Pakistan.
According to Oman News Agency, the explosion also injured more than 50 people, and a state of emergency was declared in all government hospitals across the city. The train was passing through a traffic signal at the "Chaman Patak" station in Quetta when a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device struck one of its carriages, causing a massive blast that shattered windows of nearby buildings and destroyed vehicles parked near the site.
