Samarkand: The Environment Authority took part in the opening of the "Eco Expo Central Asia 2026" exhibition in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. The event, featuring the latest environmental initiatives and technologies, will continue until June 4.
According to Oman News Agency, Dr. Abdullah Ali Al Amri, Chairman of the Environment Authority, led the delegation. The exhibition is noted for its significant participation from ministers, officials, experts, and representatives of international and regional organizations focused on environmental, climate, and sustainable development affairs. This event is a key platform for enhancing international cooperation and sharing expertise in environmental protection, climate change adaptation, natural resource management, and financing green growth initiatives.
The exhibition featured a high-level working session titled "Financing Green Growth," with active participation from the Chairman of the Environment Authority. Discussions centered on enhancing environmental investments and developing sustainable financing mechanisms aimed at low-carbon development and bolstering capacities to address environmental and climate challenges.
Oman's participation in the exhibition underscores its commitment to enhancing its presence in global environmental forums and expanding cooperation with countries and organizations focused on environmental affairs. This contributes to supporting national efforts to achieve environmental sustainability targets as outlined in Oman Vision 2040.
