Dollar Steady Near 18-Month High Amid Federal Reserve Inflation Concerns

Hanoi:The dollar remained close to an 18-month high during subdued Asian trading, influenced by recent minutes from the Federal Reserve's meeting which highlighted inflation as a significant risk to the economic outlook.

According to Oman News Agency, the dollar index, which measures the US currency against a basket of six major currencies, held steady at 102.23 after a 0.3% gain on Wednesday. The dollar's movement against the yen saw a slight decline of 0.2%, reaching 157.815 yen, following data showing Japan's current account surplus at 4.062 trillion yen ($25.7 billion) in August.

Meanwhile, the Australian and New Zealand dollars remained largely unchanged at $0.6960 and $0.5600, respectively. Similarly, the euro remained stable at $1.1201, and the British pound was flat at $1.3215.
