Cairo: The Arab Parliament’s general assembly meetings began in Cairo today, Saturday, to discuss a number of important topics, most prominently the Palestinian issue, according to the WAFA news agency.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, in the closing session, the Parliament will discuss the reports of its specialized committees, most notably the report of the Palestine Committee following its meeting at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League in Cairo.
Arab Parliament Speaker Mohammed Al-Yamahi condemned “the ongoing war of genocide waged by the occupation against the Palestinian people and the escalation of its crimes against the Palestinian people, especially in the Gaza Strip.”
He called on international institutions, especially the UN Security Council, “to take action and stop these massacres, and to refrain from double standards in dealing with these daily incidents and massacres.”
Al-Yamahi stressed that the Palestinian cause “will remain at the forefront of the Arab Parliament’s priorities, as it is the Arabs’ primary central issue and the cornerstone of achieving security and stability in the region and the world.”
