Agriculture Ministry Evaluates Key Projects and Assets in A’Dhahirah

A'dhahirah: The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources has conducted a comprehensive review of significant statistical indicators, agricultural and water assets, and investment projects related to food and water security in A'Dhahirah Governorate. The review also covered the progress of ongoing projects in the region.

According to Oman News Agency, the review was part of a meeting between Dr. Saud Hamoud Al Habsi, the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, and Tahir bin Mabkhout Al Junaibi, the Governor of A'Dhahirah. The meeting focused on addressing the challenges faced by current agricultural projects and discussed strategies to overcome these obstacles. The dialogue highlighted the importance of supporting initiatives that aim to achieve sustainable food security and foster partnerships between the government, private sector, and agricultural associations.

Governor Tahir Mabkhout Al Junaibi emphasized the government's commitment to bolstering the agricultural sector and food and water security projects across Oman. He noted A'Dhahirah's promising potential for agricultural and investment growth. The governor also stressed the need to tackle obstacles faced by farmers and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to enhance sustainable agricultural development, boost local production, and support the national economy.

Following the discussions, Dr. Saud Hamoud Al Habsi, accompanied by Halima Rashid Al Zareei, Chairperson of the SMEs Development Authority (Riyada), conducted a field visit to several prominent food security projects in A'Dhahirah. The visit aimed to assess local production efforts and support for farmers, as well as review advanced agricultural projects that contribute to self-sufficiency and enhanced food security. Key visits included the Al An'am livestock farms in the Wilayat of Dhank and the Subul National farms, a poultry farm, both pivotal in achieving the governorate's food security goals.
