A number of drug dealers arrested and confiscating narcotics and weapons in four Governorates

The detachments of the General Directorate for Narcotics Affairs arrested a number of drug dealers and seized narcotic substances, weapons, bombs and fake sums of money in Baghdad, Najaf, Maysan and Muthanna.

A statement by the Directorate stated that: “Within the framework of the national campaign to combat drugs and the qualitative security duties carried out by the General Directorate for Narcotic Affairs, four drug traffickers were arrested during the past hours, after being pursued by the Karkh Drug Control for a week in the capital, Baghdad.”

The statement added: “They seized one and a half kilograms of narcotic crystal, a number of medium and light weapons, bombs, fake money, bicycles and vehicles used to transport narcotics.”

In an accurate and qualitative operation in Al-Najaf Governorate, two kilograms of narcotic crystal were seized, and a group of traffickers with this substance were arrested by the Najaf Narcotics Control.

In the same context, a network of drug dealers was arrested in Maysan and one and a half kilograms of narcotic crystal were seized.

While the Muthanna Drug Control Department managed, with a qualitative operation, to seize a kilogram of narcotic crystal along with bombs and vehicles used to transport and smuggle narcotic substances.
