The Veterinary Hospital in Diyala announced the registration of a new case of hemorrhagic fever, bringing the number of infections to 15 cases during the current year.
The hospital Director, Ibtisam Jassim Muhammad, told the correspondent of the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that a young man in his twenties was infected with hemorrhagic fever in the Ataba area on the outskirts of Baladruz, east of Baqubah.
She added that the infected person owns pens for raising sheep and livestock, noting that veterinary measures have been taken, which include controlling and spraying the area around the area of the infection and prohibiting the movement of livestock in the area of infection in coordination with health authorities.
It is noteworthy that Diyala recorded two deaths from hemorrhagic fever during the current year, one of which was a security personnel and the other was a 17-year-old girl.
