Visitors Return To The Eiffel Tower In Paris After A False Bomb Report

The French authorities allowed visitors to return to the Eiffel Tower after evacuating it, on Saturday, following a bomb alert.

The French police said in a statement that the bomb report was false, adding that people could return inside the tower.

A security alert yesterday led to the evacuation of three floors of the Eiffel Tower for a few hours before it was lifted without any bomb being found.

The authority that manages the tower said that bomb disposal experts and the police inspected the place, including a restaurant located on one of the floors.

It added, "This is a normal procedure in this type of situation, but it is rare."

A source in the police and the authority confirmed that the alert was lifted after a few hours.
