Shinas:The University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS) in Shinas introduced the "Tamkeen" initiative, aimed at facilitating university graduates' entry into the industrial sector.
According to Oman News Agency, the initiative, in collaboration with the Office of the Wali of Shinas, targets 50 engineering graduates from four universities in the North Al Batinah Governorate. The program is designed to acquaint these graduates with the industrial sector's working environments and establish communication channels with industry specialists and experts.
The initiative includes a qualification programme featuring training, dialogue sessions, and field visits, enabling participants to gain insights into the industrial work environment. Additionally, it aims to inform participants about job market skills and career opportunities in the industrial sector.
Sohar Aluminium hosted the inaugural programme, which included three dialogue sessions focusing on professional qualification, employment, and transitioning from university to the workforce. The sessions also included a programme by OQ on manufacturing fundamentals, a Sohar Industrial City (Madayn) programme on AI applications, and a Sohar Port programme on career development in the industrial sector.
