Muscat: United Nations humanitarian partners have warned that continued Israeli aerial bombardment and military operations in populated areas of the Gaza Strip are threatening civilian lives and causing widespread destruction of property and infrastructure. UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric said the organisation and its humanitarian partners are intensifying efforts to assess needs and deliver urgent relief to those affected in the Strip. According to Oman News Agency, Dujarric cited warnings from relief teams of an acute shortage of essential supplies, driven by insufficient funding and continued severe restrictions on aid flows and the replenishment of humanitarian stocks. He renewed his call for compliance with international humanitarian law, stressing the need to protect civilians and civilian objects, including shelters and humanitarian facilities, and to ensure their safety at all times.
