Twenty-Three Clubs Participate in Draw of HM The Sultan’s Football Cup 2026-2027

Muscat: The draw for His Majesty the Sultan's Football Cup for the 2026-2027 sports season was held today, with the participation of 23 clubs from different governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.

According to Oman News Agency, the ceremony was held under the auspices of Eng. Mohsin bin Hamad Al Hadhrami, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals. Speaking at the ceremony, Sayyid Suleiman bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Oman Football Association (OFA), described His Majesty the Sultan's Cup as an integral part of Oman's history and the most cherished competition in the country.

Al Busaidi emphasized that the OFA would continue to develop the championship, upgrading its technical and marketing aspects to reflect its esteemed status. He highlighted the symbolic value of the championship as the 'beating heart of Omani football'.

In the preliminary round of the competition, Samayil will face Bidiyah, while Saham will compete against Muscat. Al Tali'aa is set to play against Al Mudhaibi, and Al Wuhda will face Majees. Matches between Nizwa and Fanja, Al Suwaiq and Ibri, as well as Al Musanaa and Al Arouba, are also scheduled.

Furthermore, nine clubs have already secured their spots in the round of 16. The winner of the first match will meet Al Nahda, while the victor of the second match will face A'Seeb. The winner of the third match will encounter Sohar, the fourth match's winner will clash with Oman club, and the fifth match's winner will play against Dhofar club. The sixth match's winner will take on Bahla club, the seventh match's winner will face Al Nasr, and the winner of the eighth match will compete against Al Shabab.
