The Saudi Crown Prince presides over the summit of the consultative meeting of the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud chaired today, Wednesday, the summit of the consultative meeting of the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and the Gulf summit with the Central Asian countries, which held their business in Jeddah.

During the opening ceremony, bin Salman indicated that the summit is an embodiment of the long-standing ties with the countries of Central Asia, and that the challenges facing the world require unification of efforts, stressing the importance of the joint action plan between the Gulf states and Central Asian countries.

For his part, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev said: We have applied the visa-free entry system to the Gulf countries to enhance tourism cooperation between the countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab Gulf States and Central Asian countries, calling on the other hand for the need to take actual steps to confront Islamophobia, extremism and racism in the world.

In a related context, Imam Ali Rahman, President of Tajikistan, called for the establishment of a special fund for investment within the framework of the Islamic Action Organization for the benefit of Islamic countries, expressing his aspiration to bring Gulf investments to Central Asian countries and to establish an investment fund between the Gulf and Central Asia in light of the common historical and cultural relations.

The summit discussed strengthening cooperation and coordination in various fields, in light of the growing regional and international interest in the five Central Asian countries. Given its location, geostrategic importance, and the natural resources that these countries possess, which qualifies them for great developmental leaps.
