Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his condolences to the family of Wagner leader Yevgeny Prigozhin after his death in the crash of the plane on which the founder of the Wagner Group was on board, in the Russian province of Tver.
He confirmed in a televised statement: We are awaiting the results of the investigations into his death.
Putin said: Prigozhin was a man with a difficult fate, but he was talented, stressing that Wagner made an effective contribution to the fight against Nazism in Ukraine, and we will never forget this.
Putin stressed: The investigation committee has launched an investigation into the plane crash, and we will complete it to the end.
Putin said: I have known Prigozhin for a very long time, since the beginning of the nineties. He made mistakes, but achieved tangible results for himself and the common cause.
