Baghdad, The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, stressed today, Tuesday, the importance of unifying Iraqi political discourse.

The Presidential Media Office said in a statement: “The President of the Republic received at Baghdad Palace the Chairman of the Parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee, Dylan Ghafour Saleh, and the Committee’s Vice-Chairman, Jabbar Al-Kanani.”

He added, "During the meeting, the situation at the international and regional levels was reviewed, and emphasized the need to unify the Iraqi external political discourse regarding important files and issues."

The statement pointed out the importance of building balanced relations with the countries of the world and neighbors that achieve common interests and are based on respect for Iraq’s sovereignty and the independent Iraqi decision. They pointed out the need for cooperation and coordination between the Presidency of the Republic and the House of Representatives to enhance the legislative aspects and speed up the approval of draft laws.
