The Parliament affirmed the endeavor of the legislative authority and its continuous work to strengthen the banking and financial infrastructure and develop modern and innovative economic means to serve citizens.

The Representative of the First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, member of the Finance Committee, Representative Muhammad Nuri, said during the opening of the activities of the annual exhibition and conference for finance and banking services today, Saturday, on the grounds of the Baghdad International Fair, that “this prominent event that brings together academic and banking minds and specialists, is taking place at an important time the country is witnessing transformations and developments in the financial sector and banking services, and contributes to sustainable development.

He added, “Financial and banking services play an important role in the Iraqi economy, and we realize the importance of various sectors in supporting the national economy,” noting that “providing financing and credit for small and medium companies and large projects contributes to the growth of the business sector, and creates new opportunities in a way that enhances economic growth and reduces the unemployment.

He went on to say, “The banking sector plays an important role in improving the lives of citizens and providing banking services that are widely spread, and therefore we must focus on providing financial and banking services to enhance financial stability and combat corruption by enhancing transparency and improving the financial and banking system.”
