The Minister of Foreign Affairs and the US Charge d’Affairs discuss the issue of energy and gas and the region’s relationship with the center

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fouad Hussein, discussed with the Chargé d’Affairs of the US Embassy to Iraq, David Burger, a number of important issues, including the issue of energy and gas and issues related to the relationship of the center and the Kurdistan region.

A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated: “Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein received, on Tuesday, the Chargé d’Affairs of the US Embassy to Iraq, David Burger, and stressed during the meeting the importance of the relations that bring the two countries together in many areas of mutual interest, and the need to strengthen and develop them to serve the shared interests.”

During the meeting, according to the statement, the most important files of bilateral cooperation between Iraq and the United States of America were reviewed, in addition to the most important developments at the regional and international levels, and the two sides discussed a number of important issues, including the issue of energy and gas and issues related to the relationship of the center and the Kurdistan region.

For his part, the US Chargé d’Affaires affirmed the United States’ keenness to achieve political and economic stability at the level of Iraq and the region, and the importance of achieving the best services for the Iraqi people, reiterating his country’s government’s support for the security and stability of Iraq, expressing his country’s aspiration to strengthen the existing bilateral relations between the two countries.
